Ministry Teams
Christ Lutheran’s ministry teams meet monthly and provide direction to the congregation in various areas of church life. Here is a brief description of each team’s responsibilities.
- Adult Faith Formation focuses on encouraging adults to grow in their faith and offers opportunities such as small group studies, special speakers, and events to help foster this growth.
- Children’s Christian Education works with the Director of CCE to coordinate Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Day Camp, and other activities and events for children and families to help them connect and build their faith.
- Endowment Trust Fund exists to provide for mission work beyond the operational budget of the church.
- Evangelism works to enhance hospitality to visitors, to help new members feel welcomed into the life of the congregation, and to help promote Christ Lutheran’s programs to the surrounding community.
- Finance reviews cash flow, balance sheet, and income and spending reports to ensure that the church is able to cover expenses for personnel, operations, and different ministry programs. They develop and review the church’s policies and procedures on financial matters.
- Long Range Planning’s purpose is to evaluate, interpret, and review on an annual basis the mission statement of the congregation, and establish goals and plans of action for the future development of the congregation. They have been active in the building addition, focusing on staffing needs, and the continuing review of the structure of the church council.
- Missions team raises congregational awareness of global missions and coordinates fundraising efforts for overseas missionaries that are connected to Christ Lutheran. The Mission team plans adult mission trips and helps to coordinate fundraising for participants.
- Mutual Ministry meets to listen to the staff of the church, providing them a safe environment on a scheduled basis to discuss job satisfaction and performance. They also assist in the performance review process, set up appropriate recognition for staff members, and respond to the Executive Team on personnel issues.
- Outreach strives to make Christ known by serving the community, doing justice, and showing mercy. They work with the Director of Outreach to coordinate such local projects as Christmas Baskets, Baby Layette Program, food drives, monthly shelter meal, and provide many other opportunities to the congregation to put their faith into action.
- Property works with the Maintenance Engineer on staff to maintain the physical environment of the church. They help with repairs in the church building and maintenance of the grounds.
- Stewardship works with the pastors to emphasize to the congregation the importance of giving time, money, and abilities to the glory of God. They lead the church’s fund appeals and notify ministry teams of new members to be contacted about volunteer opportunities.
- Women of the ELCA celebrates relationships, values learning, and feels called to act boldly on their faith. They host fellowship events, hold monthly Bible studies for women, and organize service projects and fund-raisers for Christ Lutheran.
- Worship and Music works with the Director of Music and Liturgy and the pastors to create worship services that are sensitive to the needs of the congregation. Ushers, banner makers, readers, communion helpers, acolytes, choirs, musicians, sound & light coordinators are all a part of making worship a meaningful experience.
- Youth and FAYTH work with the Youth Director in creating programming and activities for youth and their parents to strengthen their relationships with each other and with God. This includes overnight retreats, book studies, summer camp, mission trips, as well as weekly discussions on faith topics.
