Children's Music in Worship
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School is held during the 9:00 and 10:30 AM worship service hours from September through May. All children need to be registered prior to starting Sunday School.
Traditional Sunday School - For children ages 3 - 1st grade. It begins with a time of worship and then the children go to their classrooms for Bible lessons and activities.
Rotation Sunday School - For children in 2nd - 5th grade. It begins with a time of worship and then children go to different learning stations each week that are centered around a main theme.
Summer Sunday School - For children ages 3 - 5th grade. Summer Sunday school is offered at both the 9:00 and 10:30 services for summer 2011. Children begin in worship and are then dismissed after the Children’s Sermon for large group activities in the Fellowship Hall. Summer Sunday School begins June 12. There is no Sunday School on Fourth of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. All are welcome at anytime, with no registration required.

KINGDOM KIDS
Kingdom Kids are monthly events that include a variety of crafts, games, and activities for children and their families. Top of page
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
Acolytes are students in 4th grade or higher who light the altar candles and assist in other ways during worship services. Call the church office for more information.
Bibles are given to all children in the 3 year-old Sunday School class, and also to those in the 3rd grade class. The Bibles are age appropriate and are given out during worship services on a Sunday in October. Children and their parents are asked to attend Bible Orientation in preparation for the children receiving these Bibles.
Christmas Program is presented each Advent by the Sunday School children. Watch for announcements of dates and times.
First Communion is for students in 5th grade and takes place on Maundy Thursday. Families are asked to attend the Orientation session, complete the five required packets, and participate in the Seder Meal as preparation for this sacrament. Children must complete their First Communion before being confirmed in 9th grade.
Lenten Lessons take place during the Wednesday night Lenten Drama worship services. Children attend the beginning of the service, and then go to their activities before the drama begins. Top of page
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Day Camp provides social and education activities for children (Grades 1 - 7) within a Christ-centered environment. Children take part in theme-centered activities at church, as well as expeditions to such places as Como Park, the Anoka Aquatic Center, and a St. Paul Saints baseball game. High school and college age youth are counselors in this program. All counselors must fill out a Day Camp Volunteer Form and attend a training session. Activities are scheduled 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Wednesdays in July . Cost is $20 per activity.
Vacation Bible School is held daily, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM during a week in August. Children (Age 3 - Grade 5) sing songs, play games, make crafts, eat snacks, participate in a mission project, and learn to apply the Daily Bible Point to their lives. Over 350 students and volunteers participate each year. In 2011, VBS will be held August 8 - 12.
Bible Camp is a week-long experience held at Green Lake Bible Camp, Spicer, MN and the Shores of St. Andrew, New London, MN during June. Children (Grades 2 -12) stay in cabins, and get the chance to go on a ropes course, create crafts, sing camp songs, share in Bible Studies, and play lots of games. CHILDREN’S MUSIC IN WORSHIP
The ministry of children’s music at Christ Lutheran is to enjoy singing God’s praises, share our faith through song, and help lead worship services.
♦ Children's Choir: 8 - 12 year olds. Meets Thursdays, 6:00 - 6:45 PM, Oct. - May. The choir does not meet in Dec. Children's Choir sings occasionally during the beginning of 9:00 and 10:30 AM Sunday worship services. For more information, contact Marissa 763-755-8635.
♦ Joyful Noise Dancers: Grades 3 - 8. Meet Wednesdays, 4:30 - 5:30 PM, Sept. - May. Learn choreographed contemporary songs in a variety of styles to share with the congregation throughout the year. No dance experience necessary. For more information contact Patty 763-784-0338. Top of page
